Louisiana

The second day of my travels has taken me to Louisiana.  I’ve decided to stay at a Casino for the night…it’s free & has electricity.  When I left Texas, my intention was to drive only four or five hours a day, but this day I ended up driving about seven and one half hours due to construction along the way. The “campground” ended up being a parking lot with a few spaces having electricity. I also had to unhook the truck since there wasn’t enough room in the spaces…it was good practice.

After settling in, I thought I should check out the casino.  I was totally amazed to find penny slot machines…did not know there was such a thing still in existence.  I played for probably an hour and a half, at which time I was $66.00 ahead…the perfect time to take my winnings and run..run..run!  Slept pretty well, in spite of the rather constant traffic.

Below is a picture of the bridge I will have to cross in the morning…Lord help me…I hate bridges!

A Poem by Rudyard Kipling

Business in Rhyme

doubt4For all those days when your feel insecure, discouraged or even lost;

If

…you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too:
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same:.
If you can bear to hear the truth…
